Building bridges

In all our projects we build bridges between the Yazidi community and justice mechanisms, between victims and media, between students and practitioners, between law enforcement and NGOs. 

Documentation, research & analysis 

Databases

We maintain databases with information about the crimes against the Yazidis and their community and the context in which the crimes took place. The databases assist us in determining whether war crimes, crimes against humanity or genocide were committed. Our data storage system is secure. It assists lawyers, victim organisations, the media and the justice sector in building cases against the perpetrators. 

Research

In cooperation with students and experts from around the world we conduct legal and evidential analysis on specific topics related to the crimes against the Yazidis, the context in which they took place and national and international mechanisms responding to the crimes. Our current research focuses on corporate accountability and the connection between terrorism and international crimes. 

Awareness raising & capacity building

Capacity Building

Following our yearly agenda, we organize lectures and training events for our partners around the world on international criminal law, investigation tools, and international and national justice mechanisms.  We hold international seminars (webinars) for our broad network of victim organizations, human rights organizations, lawyers, experts, journalists, sponsors, academics, students, members of the national police and prosecution and international justice mechanisms. 

Media and Outreach

We are active on social media to reach out to the international community to make the serious crimes against the Yazidis known and to mobilize support for a just legal response. We are publishing a bi-monthly podcast 'Voices of Yazidi’ which aims to give the voice to the Yazidis and opportunity to share their stories. We are also working on a blog series with interviews and stories about the Yazidis and different topics related to our projects which will be soon published on this website.

Outreach & advocacy

We reach out to law and policy makers, as well as the media to advocate for recognition of the crimes against the Yazidis and worldwide affirmation that a genocide took place in 2014. This is the basis for redress and reparations for all Yazidis.
